Where are you located?

Our facility is located at 36 King Street in Littleton, Massachusetts, and features 21 dedicated teaching studios and the 200-seat Camilla Blackman Recital Hall.

What kinds of music programs do you offer?

We offer private and group lessons, classes, ensembles, and performance opportunities for all ages, abilities and styles. Our doors are open to everyone, from toddlers to adults, from absolute beginners to aspiring professionals. Private lessons are offered in over 30 instruments -- plus music theory and composition -- in classical, jazz, blues, rock, pop, Irish traditional, and folk styles.

How do I find a teacher for private lessons?

Our faculty consists of 60 teaching artists with advanced music degrees from prestigious universities and conservatories, professional teaching skills, and performing experience. Private lesson students receive careful, personal placement with a teacher who will match their learning style and goals. After placement, new students have a four-lesson introductory period to ensure a good match. To initiate the placement process, complete a Private Lesson Form and submit it to us with the registration fee.

When are your programs offered?

Programs run year-round in School Year (Sept-June), and Summer (Jul-Aug) Terms. A full year of Private Lessons is 32 sessions. Registration is ongoing, and students who start later are signed up for a pro-rated number of lessons. Most Classes and Ensembles begin the first week of October.

In the Summer, we offer a flexible private lesson schedule along with classes, ensembles, and our outstanding full-day, half-day, and multi-week programs that encourage collaboration and the exploration of many musical styles.

How much do lessons and classes cost?

What benefits do you offer for students?

Your IHM tuition includes a host of educational benefits, such as guest artist masterclasses, skill-building workshops, recital opportunities (in our beautiful hall), and free or discounted admission to our professional concert series. We seek to foster the whole musician and supplement theory and technical training with instruction in good practice habits, healthy physical conditioning, and stress-free performance.
