An accomplished violinist and pianist, the late Marjorie Besas had been a scholarship student at Indian Hill for six years. "Marge was so dedicated to her music — it was what she lived for in her later years," said her teacher Susan Gottschalk. This devotion and her love for the organization led Marge to bequeath her Concord home to Indian Hill upon her recent passing at age 83. The proceeds of this generous gift are going towards Music School scholarships and a new performance series starting this fall — The Marjorie Besas Memorial Concert Series — featuring free concerts by Indian Hill musicians.
