Bob Alessio has taught guitar, fiddle, and mandolin at various schools, festivals and music workshops in the MetroWest, including “Assabet After Dark”(14 years), “NEFFA-New England Folk Festival Association(15 years), “Fiddle Hell”(8 years), “Joe Val Bluegrass Festival”(4 years), and “JamVember”(2 years). Since high school and college, Bob has played and sung in many Folk, Country, Bluegrass, Old-Time, and Italian Bands. He currently plays with “Wayside Bluegrass”, and “Red Horse Old-Time,” and leads the “Three Quarter Time”(Waltz) and “Amici della Musica Italiana” Bands. Bob previously played with the “Roaring Jelly Contra Dance Band”(15 years), the “Saints and Sinners” Folk Band (8 years), the “Meadow Muffins Bluegrass Band”(8 years), and the “Heritage String Band”(Civil War Re-enactment Band, 5 years).
He has competed in over 100 fiddle contests in New England, and has attended 14 “Ashokan Fiddle and Dance Summer Camp Weeks” in New York. Through the years, his bands have recorded four CDs.
