A lifelong musician, instructor Jackie Landry enjoys teaching children, singing and performing on piano and guitar, and writing children’s songs. She received her B.A. from Western State College in Gunnison, CO, and studied songwriting at Berklee College of Music in Boston. Jackie teaches and performs in several private schools, preschools, day care programs, elementary schools, and libraries. She has been a member of two children’s music bands, “Supper Cool Beans” and “The Green Apple Kids,” entertaining children and their parents for over 6 years.
“Musical communication for children at a young age provides a connecting link which enhances future learning skills in every aspect of a child’s life,” says Jackie. “By tapping into children’s hidden talents early on, we can strengthen and solidify a foundation of confidence, embracing their excitement, and expanding their imagination. For children, music is a vehicle through which their thoughts, emotions, experiences, and triumphs can be expressed with truth and clarity. When fun is mixed in, the result is ‘wanting’ to sing, play, and practice music.”
