Percussionist Mike Tucker is known as a bit of a multi-tasker, a useful skill for any musician, but especially for a drummer. On any given night you might find Mike in one of Boston’s many jazz clubs working with his quintet, The Luna Collective, in the orchestra pit of a local theater, or on stage in the percussion section with groups like the Portsmouth Symphony or the Concord Pops. Between 2009 and 2015, he completed three full tours of the U.S., one European tour, and dozens of trips up and down the East Coast and through the Mid-West with several Boston based pop/rock bands including Pretty & Nice (Hardly Art/Sub Pop), Aloud, and Babydriver. In 2015 Mike co-founded The Luna Collective, a quintet dedicated to playing the music of Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers. In addition to hosting a weekly jam session at the Luna Theater, Mike performs with the Peter Cassino trio at the Charles Hotel.
