Bruce Hangen | Artistic Director & Conductor | 2021/22 Concert Season

Papa and Prodigy

Saturday, March 19, 2022 | 7:30pm

Littleton HS Performing Arts Center, 56 King Street, Littleton MA

  • MOZART, L.
    Toy Symphony
Symphony No. 30 in C Major ("Alleluia")
Horn Concerto No. 1 in D Major
    Michael Bellofatto, horn
  • MOZART, W. A.
    Symphony No. 41 in C Major, K. 551 ("Jupiter")

Two “papas” here––Joseph Haydn, known as the Father of the Symphony (he preceded Beethoven in time), and Amadeus Mozart’s actual father, Leopold. This program is a classical treat taking us back in time to the late 1700s when symphonic music as we know it today was evolving. Mozart’s final symphony, the “Jupiter,” Haydn’s early symphony, the “Alleluia,” a horn concerto with our own Principal Horn Michael Bellofatto, and a toy(!) symphony all come together into a delightful program of classics.
